On my 2nd and last trip to Sri Lanka, I was given a little suitcase. In it I kept all the trinkets and
baubles a five year old considers treasure. Since it was lost, and I never saw it again, the suitcase has been built up in
my mind to contain so much more, if that were possible. This suitcase also contained some of my ‘paintings’. Tiny
tubes of paint were used on equally tiny slips of paper. When folded in half and opened, a magical sort of image unfolded.
I probably went back home to Canada and promptly forgot about this sort of pastime, but still, it lingered somewhere in the
back of my mind. Those memories led me to what became The Rorschach Inspired series. Reminiscent of the
‘paintings’ I did as a child, though perhaps not my first childhood adventures in paint, these are the ones I
vividly recall...
